Walking through Autumn leaves

On a day like this it’s no punishment to have a dog that’s a big fan of long walks…. The temperature is rather high in Holland for this time of year, and we have a lot of beautiful nature around our house!

We made our usual ‘round’ through the forest and that reminded me of what always makes me smile in Autumn/Fall. That wonderful sound when you walk through a pile of freshly fallen leaves….! I used to do it as a kid and still love it!!! ๐Ÿ’•

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think a lot of people will recognize it…. IMG_8754.JPG

I saw this yarn Tuesday evening on a meeting with other crochet lovers… Once a month we gather to talk and show each other our work. Always a pleasure, because you meet people just as enthousiast and a bit ‘crazy’…. ๐Ÿ˜

The yellow yarn almost shouted out ‘buy me, buy me…!’ It fits my new green coat so perfectly! I couldn’t find it yesterday…, but today I was lucky ๐Ÿ˜‰; enough yarn for a shawl and a hat! ๐Ÿ‘

The only problem was it’s ‘neighbour’ in the warm red colour. I couldn’t resist it…. Maybe I treat myself and make two scarfs!

Dry felting

What always makes me happy (my husband a little less because it often involves expenses…. ๐Ÿ˜) is trying new techniques!
Yesterday evening I learned some things about dry felting and today I wanted to give it a try.

I bought a basic set with some carded wool, felting needles and a foam patch. With a cookie cutter I managed to make these cute little stars….

I just opened this Instagram-account (@a_dutch_curly_girl) for a new challenge I’m starting today: 365 days of little luck. I want to give all the creative flows inside my head a boost. Lately I’ve put a lot of time in crochet. I wont put it aside…, but want to direct my focus back to other things that give me energy. In the past it also made me very happy to create with paper and f.e. fabrics. So let’s hope, that I’ll be ‘re-energized’ again! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My first idea was to make a flower garland, as a gift for a fellow-crocheter! She has a big tree, filled with small crochet presents. The obvious thing to do would be taking my hook and yarn again, but I wanted something else. That’s why I came up with these thin paper flowers.

All you need is a stapler and some ribbon or yarn (and of course a bunch of flowers!).

Just put them together and see if it works…. I’m feeling happy already! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
